About ADF Chronicles
Last updated: October 9, 2026
ADF Chronicles is a free fasting planner and tracker, built first for people doing alternate-day fasting and 36-hour fasts, and useful for daily schedules such as 16:8 too.
Why it exists
It began as a calendar for alternate-day fasting, because working out when each 36-hour fast starts and ends, across weeks and clock changes, is fiddly by hand. It has grown into calculators for each schedule and a tracker that times your fasts and keeps a record of how they went.
Who is behind it
ADF Chronicles is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any healthcare provider, research group or food or supplement company, and it carries no advertising.
What it is, and is not
- It is a planning and record-keeping tool for adults who have chosen to fast.
- It is not medical advice and cannot tell you whether fasting is suitable for you.
- It does not recommend one method over another, or encourage longer fasts.
- Your tracker data is kept on your own device. See the privacy policy.
How the information is written
- Calculators and schedules explain times only. They make no claim about what fasting does to your health or weight.
- Health and safety statements are based on published guidance from medical organizations and peer-reviewed research, cited beside the statement they support. A statement says no more than its source does.
- Dates. "Last updated" on a page changes only when its content changes in substance, not for small corrections of wording.
- Review status. No clinician or registered dietitian has reviewed the content yet. We are looking for a qualified reviewer. When one is in place, reviewed pages will name them and the review date; until then, no page claims a review.
